Local Churches
Our experience as Church and our relationships with one another are strengthened through the worship, life, and service of our Diocese. The Diocese is led by a Diocesan Bishop, elected and called by its laity and clergy, who oversees the spiritual and practical concerns of all the clergy and lay people within the Diocese. The Old Catholic Diocese of the Southeast encompasses in communities and ministries in Florida, Texas, Indiana, and the upper peninsula of Michigan. |
Synod
In the Old Catholic Diocese of the Southeast we work together in Synod - which is our regular meeting - convened to discuss, share and pray over the issues and concerns of our life together. Synod is also where matters up for discussion or vote are resolved by a consensus of our participatory voices - laity, clergy and bishop. Synod is the method by which we express our participatory Catholicism. We meet in Synod annually as a Diocese. Outside of Synod, our participatory voices continue through the Diocesan Council comprised of the elected leaders of the House of Laity, the House of Clergy, and the Diocesan Bishop. Our current Council members are: - Bp. Steven Rosczewski - Fr. Jacques LaBelle, Holy Spirit OCC - Fr. Michel Holland, osb, Holy Redeemer OCC - Pat Tuley, Community of Divine Mercy - Br. Michael Sullivan, fhs, Holy Spirit OCC. |
