Extraordinary National Assembly - January 16, 2021
Seventy individuals representing five member Old Catholic dioceses gathered to celebrate an Extraordinary Virtual National Assembly on Saturday, January 16, 2021. It was an amazing in-gathering of sisters and brothers celebrating faith, ministry and relationship together. The agenda, interspersed with prayer, included the formal reception and welcome of the merged Old Catholic Diocese of the Southeast as a member Diocese, unveiling a new website for the national Church, keynote address by Bishop Martin Shanahan, Old Catholic Diocese of the Midwest, focused workshops and round-table discussions. It was a joyful celebration of the Beloved Community!
Annual Diocesan Holy Synod - February 15, 2020
The Old Catholic Diocese of the Southeast assembled in Holy Synod on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at Holy Spirit Old Catholic Church, Safety Harbor, FL. The delegates of the House of Laity and the House of Clergy warmly received and welcomed our presenter, Bishop Rosemary Ananis, Old Catholic Diocese of New England, who led the Synod through presentations on the history and praxis of the Old Catholic Church. We were additionally blessed to have as our guests the clergy and lay leaders of area Old Catholic faith communities: St. Francis-Dunedin and St. Paul-Spring Hill. Blessed be God!
